TEHRAN – Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Expatriates Affairs Hassan Qashqavi said there is no ban on the BBC World or CNN in Iran.

But BBC Persian has no license to work in the country, Qashqavi told a local gathering of university students in Mashhad on Friday, the IRNA reported.

He added the Iranian Supreme National Security Council has disallowed Persian-language services of these TV channels to have representatives in Iran because of their past records, having carried out activities that went against Iran’s security.
